Voix du Violoncelle highlights the Baroque cello’s ability to reinterpret French Baroque music with clarity, elegance, and dramatic nuance. Works originally written for voices, violins, flutes, and theatrical settings take on new character in Jessica Korotkin’s thoughtful adaptations, revealing how flexible and expressive this repertoire can be when reimagined for a single, richly resonant instrument. Drawing from theatre, concerto, cantata, and variation traditions, the program shows how French Baroque style—whether witty, refined, or boldly expressive—retains its vitality when approached with curiosity and a performer’s creative insight.
